Ready to Share Your Knowledge? Let's Create a Page!
Creating a new page on a wiki is a fantastic way to contribute and share information. Don't worry, it's easier than you might think! Here's a friendly guide to get you started:
Before You Begin
- Check If the Page Already Exists:
- Use the search bar to see if a page on your topic already exists. You don't want to create a duplicate!
- Make Sure Your Topic Is Relevant:
- Ensure your topic aligns with the wiki's scope and guidelines. Some wikis have specific rules about what types of pages are allowed.
- Gather Your Information:
- Have your information and sources ready before you start writing. This will make the process much smoother.
Creating Your Page
- Use the Search Bar (For Red Links):
- Type the exact name of the page you want to create into the search bar.
- If the page doesn't exist, you'll see a message that says something like, "Create the page '[YourPageName]' on this wiki!" and a red link to the page. Click that red link.
- Red links are links to pages that do not yet exist. Creating a link to a page within another page, and then clicking the red link, is another way to start a new page.
