The Justice Definitions Wiki Review Program is designed to maintain the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and neutrality for all definitions on the wiki. This program empowers experienced and dedicated legal professionals to ensure that the content is reliable and adheres to established legal and justice system concepts.

Program Objectives

The core mission of the Review Program is to enhance the wiki’s trustworthiness by:

  • Ensuring Factual Accuracy: Verifying that definitions are correct and align with accepted legal or policy frameworks.
  • Maintaining Neutrality: Confirming that all definitions are presented objectively, free from bias, in line with the wiki’s neutral point of view (NPOV) policy.
  • Improving Clarity and Consistency: Ensuring complex concepts are explained clearly and that formatting and citation standards are met.

Program Structure and Roles

The program utilizes a tiered structure, assigning different responsibilities based on expertise and experience.

Tier 1: Community Reviewers

  • Focus: Initial content review, primarily checking for formatting, required citations, and basic clarity.
  • Responsibilities: Flagging submissions with insufficient citations, identifying minor errors, and providing preliminary feedback.

Tier 2: Subject Matter Reviewers

  • Focus: Detailed review of content accuracy and neutrality by experts in specific fields (e.g., human rights law, criminal justice).
  • Responsibilities: Verifying the factual accuracy of definitions and ensuring adherence to the Neutral Point of View policy.

Tier 3: Domain Experts

  • Focus: Thematic oversight and providing final approval on complex or debated definitions.
  • Responsibilities: Managing the efficiency of the review queue and conducting final quality assurance checks.

Reviewer Criteria and Selection

Becoming a reviewer requires a demonstrated commitment to the wiki’s mission and standards.

  • Wiki Policy Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of core wiki policies, including NPOV and citation standards.
  • Commitment: A genuine interest in improving the quality and accessibility of justice-related definitions.
  • Subject Matter Knowledge: Must possess verifiable expertise in a relevant field.
